Last Thursday marked the filing deadline for local school board elections.

The countdown to Election Day is on. Absentee ballots go into the mail for folks who have requested them on Friday, Oct. 14. The Federal Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8 and voters will vote at the polls.

Unofficial election results from Madison County School and Special District elections are in. Paula McKenzie, Madison County Clerk and Recorder and Election Administrator shared the tallies below.

Madison County school board elections
Ballots for all school and special district elections being held on May 3 of this year are in the mail. These elections are mail ballots only. The ballots were mailed April 13, according to Paula McKenzie, Madison County Clerk & Recorder/Election Administrator.
Off to the races
Election season 2022 has officially begun. The deadlines for candidates for state, county and local school board positions have passed and the names on the ballots are set.
Last call voters
Voters have until 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 2, 2021, to return their municipal ballots to the elections office in Virginia City via mail or drop off. According to Paula McKenzie, Madison County Clerk & Recorder/Election Administrator, “A postmark on the affirmation envelope WILL NOT work.” Late Registration began Oct.
School board elections
School board trustee election ballots will be mailed to county residents on April 16. Filing for positions closed March 25.
