School board elections
Ballots mailed April 16
School board trustee election ballots will be mailed to county residents on April 16. Filing for positions closed March 25.
Twin Bridges School District has two, three-year trustee positions available and two candidates have filed. Ennis School District has two, three-year positions open and five candidates have filed. Sheridan School District has four positions open: two, three-year positions for Sheridan, one two-year Alder position and one three-year Alder position. Two candidates have filed for the Alder positions and three candidates have filed for the Sheridan positions.
Alder School District has one, three-year position open, and it has been filed for re-election. Harrison School District has one, three-year position open and one candidate has filed.
All of the filing information from above is as of March 29. Candidates were able to write in until April 1.
“The school schedule is different than regular elections, and they have a little tighter time frame for their elections,” Paula McKenzie, Madison County clerk and recorder and election administrator, said. Districts create the ballots, give them to the county election office and the office sends out ballots to residents.
Election Day is May 4.
