Madison County Sanitarian Van Puckett spoke with each Madison County school superintendent about plans for the upcoming school year.

“They’re all doing a great job working toward the same common goal,” Puckett said. “Each one is looking at the health and wellbeing of the students and staff.”

MADISON COUNTY SCHOOLS

All but one Madison County public school has voted to continue distance learning for the remainder of the school year. Harrison Schools’ scheduled meeting was after publishing deadline, but according to the superintendent, Fred Hofman, it is likely that the Harrison Schools will follow suit.

School days

Madison County schools have been closed for three weeks due to the coronavirus. Gov. Steve Bullock extended the closures to April 24 on Tuesday.

VIRGINIA CITY—After a weather delay that gave competitors a few extra days to study the word list, the Madison County spelling bee was held at the county administrative building in Virginia City on Monday, March 4.

Drivers are not following the rules of the road when it comes to school buses, according to school bus driver and school officials. Those who don’t put the lives of students at risk. (R. Colyer)
