Depaoli case continued

Dalton Furie Depaoli failed to appear at the Madison County Courthouse on Feb. 12 citing a health issue. Depaoli is being charged with one count failing to register as a violent offender. His case was continued until Feb. 26.

Federal Judge Upholds Montana’s Robocall Prohibition

HELENA – On Feb. 9, a federal district court judge upheld the constitutionality of Montana’s prohibition on automated political phone calls (robocalls). In the case of Victory Processing LLC. vs. Montana, Judge Charles Lovell of Helena ruled “…Montana’s robocall statute is a constitutionally permissible content-based regulation of speech.”

Sheridan gets expert water rate info

SHERIDAN -- Sheridan residents likely will see a water rate increase in the near future, due to the need for a new well and the loss of state funding for its water project. During its meeting Monday, Sheridan council received a briefing from Dan Kramer with Montana Rural Water, which included a preliminary rate proposal for the town.
