Between Jan. 10 and Jan. 18, 56 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Madison County. Eight individuals are hospitalized, 145 in quarantine and three additional Covid-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing the total death count related to Covid-19 during the pandemic to six.

Twin Bridges

At Twin Bridges School District’s January board meeting, quite a few community members attended in-person and virtually to express their support for school staff and programs.

Being familiar with the powerhouse Twin Bridges team, Harrison boys knew they had their work cut out for them at their Jan. 14 matchup in Twin Bridges. Leading up to the game the Harrison Wildcats were feeling good, coming off of a home win against Gardiner on January 9.

Madison County Clerk and Recorder Paula McKenzie may be new to the position, but by no means is she new to the office.

With current contracted Madison County Nursing Home Administrator Steve McNeece’s last day slated for March 17, the Madison County Board of Commissioners initiated the hiring process for his successor at their weekly meeting on Jan. 5.

Montana House District 71 Representative Kenneth Walsh, R-Twin Bridges, began his first Montana State Legislature session inside the Montana capitol this year. House District 71 encompasses Madison County and parts of Silver Bow and Jefferson Counties.

Early conversations have started again about a community center in Ennis, Mont. Local mental health leaders and community members met on Monday to discuss benefits and hear concerns about having a focal point with resources for the whole family.

It may not have been a holiday season full of gatherings at Madison County nursing homes, but nursing home administrators-in-training from Madison Valley Manor and Tobacco Root Mountains Care Center told the Madison County Board of Commissioners at their weekly meeting on January 5 that holiday spirits were still high.
