100 Years Ago

After the Soviet Union surrendered to Germany on March 3, 1918, the German strategy was to overwhelm the Allies in the West before the U.S. could muster large amounts of materiel and men to the war zone. General John J. “Black Jack” Pershing arrived in France in May 1917 and American forces had been deploying to France since the fall of 1917.

'Stitches that bind'

The Madison Conservation District has been working on a restoration project along Jack Creek for four years. After talks first spurred in 2014, the two-phase project is seeing its first milestone in the near completion of phase one.

Troop 4601 Pinewood Derby

The annual Boy Scout troop 4601 pine wood derby races were held Saturday, March 17 at the Ennis Elementary school. 30 plus cars were submitted by boy scouts, girl scouts, siblings and adults. Mykayla Matson was awarded Pine Wood Derby Champion.

Pet of the Week

Is that you I see in the distance? I sure hope so. I've been waiting and waiting. Love to play, give you nose bumbs and occasionally a little kiss. I'm a gentle and loving guy, good indoors and have everything taken care of, well except my annual boosters. After being abandoned I sure hope I get a furever and ever home with lots of loving.
