Pony Poker Ride 2020

Riders saddled up for the 16th annual Pony Poker Ride June 20. Blue sky and Hollowtop Mountain backdropped the horseback poker game. The Sitz Angus Ranch in Harrison hosted the Pony Homecoming Club fundraiser of 82 players.

Gaucho Derby

A storm rolled in bringing snow to the high elevations of the Andes Mountains on the third day of the Gaucho Derby.

Of the 24 contestants from around the world, two rode out of the mountains on their horses - two southwest Montanans. Corie Downey’s and Marie Griffs’ experience riding in the Montana mountains proved to be an advantage.

Finalists limbo

A second game against Fort Benton in the 2020 State C Boys Basketball Tournament remains in in the way of Twin Bridges placing third.

The tournament in Missoula was halted the night before the final games due to the spread of the coronavirus reaching Montana. It is uncertain if the final games will be rescheduled.

Falcons to State

Madison County’s Twin Bridges team is playing in the 2020 State C Boys Basketball Tournament.

The Falcons are competing for the championship title at the University of Montana Adam’s Center March 11-14. Their first game is against Fort Benton Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

FALCONS TO STATE TOURNAMENT

Twin Bridges claimed a spot in the 2020 State Basketball Tournament.

The Falcons challenged the Gardiner Bruins for second place in the 2020 Western C Boys Division- al Basketball Tournament and won (49-41). Twin Bridges and Manhattan Christian will compete in the Class C State Tournament in Missoula March 12-14.

The Falcons transformed into a championship team in a single season. Twin Bridges is the champion of 2020 Girls’ District 12-C Basketball. The young team, with two eighth graders putting in some important minutes on the court, defeated the Granite Prospectors, 43-28, in Butte Feb. 22.

FALCONS WIN CONFERENCE BATTLE

Both teams were electric in the first few of minutes of the game. Harrison senior Vern Homner stole the ball at half court for a dunk in the second minute. Twin Bridges senior Nate Konen tied the game each time Harrison got ahead during the fast paced plays early in the game.
