SHERIDAN – Despite all the water coming off the mountains from snowpack and abundant spring rainfall, just one of Sheridan’s five town water wells is producing water. As a result, water projects were front and center on the Sheridan town council’s June 12 meeting.
VIRGINIA CITY – A solution may be in sight for the Stonewall-Dudley building’s structural problems and safety issues, if the town, the building’s owners and the Montana Heritage Commission can come together and work on its future.
ENNIS - Three vehicles were involved in a head-on collision just north of Ennis on Monday afternoon, June 11.
Montana Highway Patrol, the Madison County Sheriff’s department, Montana Department of Transportation and the Ennis and Harrison Fire Departments responded to the collision around 4:30 p.m.
ENNIS – At about 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, Elaine Forsberg of Ennis dropped her cast ballot into one of the two blue boxes on the table at the town hall. Two unused ballots slid into the other blue box. Then Forsberg received her “I voted” sticker, which she wore proudly.

ENNIS - According to the National Weather Service (NWS), we aren’t completely safe from flood threats yet, but hopefully we don’t have too much longer to wait before local rivers start to recede.
While the Madison River remains high, it currently faces little risk of flooding.
TWIN BRIDGES – Howard Chrest and Mark Savinski, both of Sheridan, were happy to share what both see as permanent links for future generations to the great outdoors – two recently acquired permanent access points to the Ruby River, and a third access in the works – Sunday morning, June 3.
Unofficial June 5 primary voting results
VIRGINIA CITY – Recent election results from local schools and the hospital are now available. The school district results are not official. The existing school boards must canvass these results before they are final.
However, the hospital result is final.

MISSOULA – Martin James Walsh, a 53-year-old resident of Twin Bridges, Mont., pled guilty to possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a substance containing a detect-able amount of methamphetamine. U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeramiah Lynch presided over the hearing.
