There’s a saying that Ennis Town Commissioner Cory Hardy returns to often: “Activity promotes more activity and laziness promotes more laziness.” It’s a motivational quote he’s even used as his screensaver and words of wisdom he passes on to others who might need it.

Crossing the finish line

Madison County’s Class C competitors had a strong showing at the Montana High School Association Class AA-C State Track and Field Meet held May 27-29. Here are the athletes that made the top 10.

On track for success

The Montana State Class C track and field competition takes place May 28-29 in Missoula. The top seven athletes from each divisional event move on to the grand finale. Here’s a list of the talented Madison County athletes that made the cut.

STATE BOUND: Ennis girls softball places fourth in divisional tournam

The Ennis lady Mustang softballers aren’t wasting any time. Merely two years into the team’s existence the girls battled their way through divisional play to place fourth in the Western B-C division. Their first divisional matchup was on May 20 against Loyola, winning 15-5. The next day dealt an early 20-1 loss against Mission-Arlee-Charlo.

Champions

The Ennis girls Mustangs stomped the Anaconda Copperheads on May 6, securing Ennis’ title as Montana’s 2021 Class C conference champs.
