The Madison River Work Group met for the final time this spring on Thursday, May 26. The primary purpose of the meeting was to finalize their recommendations for the Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting on June 22. If adopted, the recommendations will go into effect in 2023.
Team members from both Madison Valley Medical Center in Ennis and Ruby Valley Medical Center in Sheridan received important first responder training on May 27 and May 28.
Pickleball. Fun to say, fun to play! It is also the fastest growing sport in the nation, and possibly Madison County. It combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong. It is played with a paddle and a ball with holes in it on a badminton or modified tennis court. The game is appropriate for all ages and all skill levels.
In the crowded meeting room in Virginia City the Madison County Board of Commissioners (MCBC), Madison County opened a discussion about the petition to abandon county road #71, Adobetown Road on May 24.
The Federal Primary Election being held on June 7 will have a few county offices/issues for our voters to choose. This election will be a poll election with mail ballots being sent to absentee voters.
NorthWestern Energy (NWE) held its annual Discussion of Madison River Topics April 26 in Ennis. This was the first in-person meeting in Ennis since 2019 due to the pandemic.

The Ruby Valley swimming pool in Sheridan is getting ready to open its gates for yet another season of fun in the sun. Unfortunately, this cannot happen without a little help from us, the community.
