There’s a saying that Ennis Town Commissioner Cory Hardy returns to often: “Activity promotes more activity and laziness promotes more laziness.” It’s a motivational quote he’s even used as his screensaver and words of wisdom he passes on to others who might need it.
The Greater Yellowstone Adventure Series (GYAS), a series of eight races on the public lands of Southwest Montana, will be held from July 16 to 26. Due to Covid-19, the vast majority of sporting events across the United States have been canceled or postponed.
ENNIS—The Greater Yellowstone Adventure Series continued over the weekend of July 21-22 with its double marathon weekend, the only one of its kind in Montana. The Madison and Big Sky marathons saw their 11th and 4th annual iterations, respectively, and two out-of-towners nabbed three of the four marathon titles between them.
ENNIS - The way Sam Korsmoe sees it, race directors like to call their respective marathons, 5Ks and 10Ks the most beautiful, the most difficult, the most whatever.
But, says Korsmoe, those descriptors are all completely subjective. He didn’t want that when he created the Greater Yellowstone Adventure Series (GYAS) .
