Just two days after the 4th of July parade in Ennis where an unusually large number of rather new looking US Soccer jerseys were on display within the crowd, US Soccer did… well, what they have always done.
We are closing in on the end of our season. The varsity boys and girls are leaving Ennis Sunday afternoon, May 10, headed to Billings, to play the Lake Hills Golf Course in Divisional play.
Middle school athletes from across the county and surrounding areas met at Dillon on Monday, April 27 for the County Meet. Madison County schools take turns hosting the meet, this year, Twin Bridges Schools had the honors. Students competed and socialized.
The Ennis Mustangs softball team traveled to Anaconda and started a new winning streak on April 14 with 16-1 and 6-4 wins in the double header.
The golf season is in full swing with our first three meets this last week with both varsity and JV on Friday with varsity in Townsend. Our low scores were senior John Hostetler with a 84 and senior Marisa Snider with a 93. Our JV team headed to Big Timber.
The Ennis Mustangs pushed their record to 7-0 after posting five wins last week. The first was a 18-5 win against Dillon followed by double header sweeps against Thompson Falls and Plains.
“There is one name on the front of our jerseys and every girl played for this little community of Ennis. That is more important than any win or loss,” said Mustangs head coach Mike Speck after his team finished their season tied for fifth place at the state tournament.
“This was the craziest moment in live sports that I have ever witnessed,” said Ennis girls basketball head coach Mike Speck after his team came back from 17 points down to defeat the Huntley Project and qualify for the Class B state tournament.
