A League to Call their own

Women’s softball has been around since 1888. it became a game of fast pitch at the end of the Great Depression. Then professional leagues were created. Women’s softball wasn’t well accepted in the beginning as men were concerned that women’s bodies couldn’t handle the stress of the game. Boy were they wrong.

Weekend softball

The Ennis Mustangs traveled to Florence for two days of softball on April 22 and 23. The Varsity defeated Thompson Falls on Friday 16-0. The Mustangs scored 9 runs in the third inning. Megan Knack homered in the third & Addison Retherford led from the mound. Saturday, the Mustangs came up short against the Eureka Lady Lions.
