Randy Brown wins Montana State Senior Golf Tournament
During the first week of August, Ennis’ Randy Brown won the senior division of Montana State Amateur Golf Association’s Annual Championship. Over the three-day competition the venue took place at: Butte Country Club, The Old Works in Anaconda and Fairmont Hot Springs. Brown competed against other senior players scoring an average of 78 stokes over the 54-hole competition. In fact, he won the event by 20 strokes!
Randy began his love of golf in Northeastern Ohio as a caddy when 12 years old. Thereafter, he effectively competed against other junior golfers in the area including Tom Weiskopf, also of Ohio, who ultimately won The Open Championship at Royal Troon, one of golf’s four major championships. Brown continued to caddy with the PGA Championship at Firestone County Club in Akron being of particular note.
Brown is an active member of Madison Meadows Golf Course and has been a resident of Ennis for 42 years.
