Mustangs take the win

Ennis beats Sheridan

Ennis volleyball girls defeated Sheridan in three sets Sept. 17.

The Mustangs trampled the Panthers in the first set. Ennis quickly racked up a significant lead from the serving line. Sheridan tied the score early in the second , but Ennis shot to the lead again. The Panthers came the closest to topping the Mustang’s points in the third set, digging deep in the final minutes on the clock. But Ennis took the victory in Sheridan.

Ennis dominated kill points with 24 total kills compared to Sheridan’s six. Marlyssa Ledgerwood and Avery Oliver led the Mustangs in kills, and Faith Larsen lead the Panthers kills. Both teams displayed their completive effort reaching to return hard plays. Oliver led the Mustangs in digs and Mackenzee Fabel led Sheridan’s digs.

Sheridan’s new senior Caitlyn Galiger had success at the serving line and at the net, leading in blocks and aces. Taylor Barney in Ennis’ aces.

Both teams went on to lose the next day. Ennis lost to Manhattan Christian and Sheridan lost to Lima. Sheridan takes on West Yellowstone next for a home game Sept. 25. Ennis will play White Sulphur Springs the next day.
