Mustangs kick the Panthers
The Sheridan Panthers hosted the Ennis Mustangs in a conference game that hasn’t been played for seven years. The game was a must win for both teams to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Mustangs came out hot and scored 26 unanswered points in the first quarter and it looked to be a blowout. Early in the second quarter, the Panthers scored their first touchdown and then riddled off three more to go into the locker room down 28-34. The third quarter was a defensive struggle with each team mustering only one score to end the third quarter 35-42. The Mustangs came out in the 4th, capitalized on 3 Panther blunders, and scored 20 points while the panthers scored none to take the victory 62-35. The Panthers line up in a nonconference game against Flint Creek this week and then are in a must win situation in Park City in two weeks.
