Harrison brought the heat

Undefeated start of the season

The Wildcats took over Panther territory on the volleyball court Sept. 4. Harrison defeated Sheridan in three sets.

The Panthers had a strong final set but could not topple the Wildcats. Harrison senior setter and middle hitter Aleena Bacon and sophomore outside hitter and setter Dana Lerum demonstrated their power at the net, both leading the Wildcats in kills and blocks. Freshman outside hitter Lauren Cima proved to be an important contributor to the Harrison team with rally-ending and point-earning kills.

Bacon and Lerum not only led the Wildcats in points but also made the majority of assists for their team. Sheridan struggled to keep the ball in play with Lerum at the serving line for Harrison.

Sheridan senior Mackenzee Fabel kept the Panthers in the game on six occasions returning Harrison’s attacks. Sheridan was deliberate in setting up plays that put points on the score board. But the Panther’s defense could not hold the Wildcats.

It took Harrison another three sets to defeat the West Yellowstone Wolverines the next day. The Wildcats will take on the Rebels next in Shields Valley Sept. 11.
