Ennis football beats Sheridan 50-20
The Mustangs took the battle of early season undefeated teams to keep themselves in a tie for first place
The Ennis Mustangs and Sheridan Panthers took time before their battle of early season undefeated teams to honor veterans and remember there are things that are bigger than football on Sept. 12. Ennis went on to score a 50-20 win and earn a tie for first place in the Southern 8-man division standings. The loss puts Sheridan at 2-1 and tied with Twin Bridges for third place in the division.
“I want to give it to our offensive line today,” said TE Garret Wagner after the game. “They were able to get a front push to get our run game going and once they went all in on the run we were able to pass over the top. Everything was just clicking.”
Ennis, who won their opener on a walk-off field goal against Lone Peak, came out of the gates quick and took a 32-6 lead into half-time.
“It was a great team effort,” Wagner concluded.
Next up for the Sheridan Panthers is a Sept. 19 home game against Lame Deer who was blown out 66-0 by Twin Bridges over the weekend. The Mustangs travel to Harlowton to face the 1-2 Engineers who beat Twin Bridges 24-19 on opening night before losing two in a row to Sheridan and Park City.
