Class B State Golf Meet in Shelby

“The Class B State Golf Tournament was held at the Marias Valley Golf and Country Club, in Shelby, on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 13th and 14th. The players had a practice round on Monday the 12th.

After the first round, Marisa Snider was tied for 5th place, John Hostetler was tied for 14th, and Riley Reynolds was tied for 63rd.

The start of the final round on Wednesday, found low wind, cool temperatures and very good scoring conditions. But that changed later in the round, where heavy rain pounded the course for nearly 20 minutes, and coupled with lightning, brought play to halt. After a nearly two hour weather delay, players were sent back out onto the course to resume their play.

At the completion of the day, Marisa finished in the 6th place, medaling for the second straight year at State. John finished 31st, with Riley, finding himself tied for 56th.

A season ending banquet and awards ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, May 22nd.
