Sheridan 5th grade holds food drive competition
Nearly 1,000 items donated
Ms. Tymbre Stender’s 5th grade class in Sheridan decided to do a Pre-K - 6 food drive competition to benefit the Ruby Valley Food Pantry. They decided this in a class meeting and went to the principal, Mr. Stout, who told them that if they did a good job preparing and carrying out the process, he would provide ice cream to the winning class. The class advertised around the school last week, sent home flyers at parent teacher conferences, and then held their food drive this past week. Overall, the elementary classes gathered almost 1,000 items! The 5th grade class also collected the most food items, 304, to win the party. All classes will be rewarded with a prize for participating and contributing to a good cause.
