Local students receive MSU degrees

BOZEMAN -- Montana State University awarded 749 undergraduate degrees during its 2017 fall commencement ceremonies on Dec. 16. Among the graduates are five Madison County residents.

Cherisse Acosta, of Ennis; Randie Adams, Jacqueline Korbet and Madison Owens, of McAllister; and Victoria Wilson, of Pony, all received degrees. Owens and Wilson graduated with highest honors and Acosta and Korbet graduated with honors.

To graduate with highest honors, undergraduate students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.70. To qualify for graduation with honors, students must possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 to 3.69.

During the ceremony, Yellowstone National Park Superintendent Dan Wenk received an honorary doctorate in letters and delivered the charge to graduates.
