Madison County Nursing Homes Foundation Inc. $1.088 million federal appropriation funds released to support County owned nursing home facilities

County and MCNHF sign MOU

On March 8, 2024, the Madison County Nursing Homes Foundation (MCNHF) was awarded a $1.088 million federal appropriation to assist and support Madison County’s publicly owned nursing home facilities located in Sheridan and Ennis. The Foundation was honored to be one of only 12 recipients selected statewide to receive critical funding.

MCNHF approved their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on February 18, signed it on February 19, then on  Feb. 24, 2026, the Foundation’s MOU was approved and signed by the Madison County Board of Commissioners. These federal funds are specifically restricted towards the purchase of new equipment and upgrades for both facilities, and a portion will be used to renovate the kitchen at Madison Valley Manor in Ennis.

“These funds represent a significant investment in the health, safety, and comfort of our residents,” said a representative of the Foundation. “This appropriation ensures we can modernize essential infrastructure and continue meeting the evolving needs of our community.”

MCNHF extends its sincere gratitude to our community members, and federal partners for recognizing the importance of investing in rural healthcare infrastructure. This funding award underscores the vital role county-owned nursing homes play in supporting families and seniors across Madison County. The Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported our efforts over the past two years.
