Emergency landing

Engine trouble was to blame for the emergency landing of a small aircraft in Shining Mountains West on Dec. 19. No one was injured and no damage was sustained to the single engine plane which touched down high on Golden Eagle Drive. Shining Mountains resident Earl Gooch said he didn’t see the plane land, but once he realized what was taking place near his driveway, he aided the pilot in tying the small craft to a fencepost. The pilot and a mechanic were working on getting the plane up and running on the morning of Dec. 21. The pilot was unavailable for comment at press time.
