The Madison County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to enact an emergency resolution appropriating funds to deal with flood waters during a regular meeting on June 14, 2022. This resolution allows two mills on a taxable valuation of a county homesite to be allocated.

Flooding triggers partial closures on 2 Madison River fishing access sites

Recent flooding has triggered partial closures at Eight Mile Ford and Burnt Tree Hole fishing access sites on the Madison River, south of Ennis.

The boat ramp areas at these sites are closed due to unstable ice and unpredictable river conditions. However, the upper walk-in and parking areas at these sites remain open.
