Following suit with other agencies, Madison County Commissioners approved a Stage 2 burn ban for the county, effective as of July 27, 2021.
The ban includes most the items listed below, as well as a ban on tiki torches, and a ban from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. on construction site activities, not including utility and emergency construction.
The Antelope wildfire burning north of Harrison grew to nearly 2,000 acres in a day.
A wildfire is burning over 50 acres in the southern Gravelly Mountains.
The fire started Sept. 12 around 11 a.m. from unknown reasons, according to a Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest press release. Area closures are being considered as of Sept. 15.
ENNIS—A semi-truck and tanker trailer crashed near Ennis on Monday evening, January 28, becoming completely engulfed in flames and closing both lanes of Highway 287 for three hours evening.

HARRISON – On Saturday morning, April 29, in a field north of Harrison, Tyler Dixon, Jeff Gerhardt and Larry Leonard carefully walked towards a burning blue four-door sedan. The car was engulfed in flame and throwing plumes of gray smoke into the warming sky.
