Upper Canyon Outfitters partners with Shoot Like A Girl to bring premier experience to Alder
Mobile shooting range introduces community to safe firearms introduction during 2025 authentic tour stop
Upper Canyon Outfitters welcomed Shoot Like A Girl to their facility in Alder, Mont., as part of the company’s 2025 Authentic Tour. The event brought together community members from Sheridan and surrounding areas for a comprehensive introduction to firearms safety and shooting sports.
The highlight of the event was Shoot Like A Girl's iconic semi-tractor trailer mobile shooting experience, which provided participants aged 18 and older the opportunity to handle handguns and long guns in a controlled, professional environment. Under the guidance of certified female instructors, attendees experienced shooting sports in a supportive atmosphere designed to build confidence and encourage participation in outdoor activities.
"This event perfectly aligned with our mission to provide quality outdoor experiences to our community," said Donna McDonald, owner of Upper Canyon Outfitters, "Having Shoot Like A Girl's professional team here allowed us to offer something truly unique to our neighbors and visitors from across the region."
The mobile range featured state-of-the-art technology, including a Firearms Training Systems (FATS) by InVeris military-grade simulator that provided immediate feedback on recoil, impact, and sound. This advanced training tool allowed participants to experience realistic target shooting while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Shoot Like A Girl instructors conducted comprehensive firearms safety and handling instruction, creating what organizers described as a fun, secure, and comfortable learning environment. For younger attendees, special safety talks were provided for children and teens under 18, ensuring the educational experience extended to all age groups.
Beyond the shooting experience, attendees explored the Shoot Like A Girl gun bar, where they could compare various firearms including revolvers, semi-automatic pistols, shotguns, and rifles. The event also featured interactive product displays and demonstrations showcasing equipment from partners including the MAGPUL DAKA Grid system, SABRE inert pepper spray, and Gun Tote'n Mamas Original concealed carry handbags.
The partnership between Upper Canyon Outfitters and Shoot Like A Girl demonstrated the growing interest in responsible firearms education and the importance of creating welcoming environments for newcomers to shooting sports. The event's focus on female instruction and inclusive atmosphere helped break down barriers often associated with firearms.
Community response was enthusiastic, with participants praising both the professional instruction and the comfortable learning environment. The event successfully introduced shooting sports to newcomers while providing experienced shooters the opportunity to refine their skills using advanced training technology.
