Governor Greg Gianforte visits Twin Bridges

Mavrick Greemore recognized for his accomplishments in archery

On Tuesday, May 6, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte visited Twin Bridges Schools with Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) Director Christy Clark to promote archery education and recognise state bullseye archery champion Mavrick Greemore. 

 

At this year’s State National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Bullseye Challenge, Greemore was one of three winners for first place. 

 

The NASP is a fourth through twelfth grade physical education curriculum to teach the fundamentals of archery in schools. The FWP is providing tournaments for schools to compete in. The FWP also provides grant funding for schools interested in adding this program with these grants it makes the equipment more affordable. Schools can have teachers become certified by taking a basic archery instructor training. The FWP has a big part in these programs, they coordinate the program statewide, train teachers, order and take care of  the equipment for many of the schools and host the tournaments. 

 

Mavrick Greemore, the student recognized on Tuesday, has competed in many competitions both indoor and outdoor. In his indoor competitions he took 1st place in the 2025 S3DA Western Nationals, 2025 S3DA State, 2025 S3DA Vegas National Championship, 2025 Northwest Indoor Sectionals, 2025 USA Archery U21 JOAD Indoor Nationals, 2025 Elevation Shoot (National Scholarship Tour), Treasure State Shootout (National Scholarship Tour), 2025 Madison County Fair Shoot, in olympic recurve 2025 Montana State NASP Tournament 3 way tie for 1st. 

 

He took second place at the 56th USA Archery Indoor Nationals U21, third in the NFAA National Series, fifth in the Surf Side 600, and overall for the National Scholarship Tour 8th in the Nation.

 

For outdoor his placing were, 2025 #1 USAT Arizona Cup Qualified 27th & Eliminated 23rd , 2025 World Archery Youth Championships/Jr Pan Am Games U.S. Team Trials Qualified 10th and 2025 #2 USAT Gator Cup Qualified 11th & Eliminated 6th.

 

Mavrick’s goals for the future are to compete in the Olympics and reach the pinnacle of archery. In the meantime he plans to continue dedicating himself to consistent practice and push his limits every day. 

 

“Seeing the Governor there and having him hand me the bow wasn’t just a big moment—it felt like something more than recognition. It meant that someone at the top saw the effort, the dedication and the journey behind it all. What could have been just another award turned into a moment of real significance. When the Governor handed me that bow, it felt like the weight of everything I’d done was being truly seen, honored and respected. It made the entire experience feel personal, meaningful and unforgettable,” stated Mavrick.
