Ruby Valley students compete at State FFA Convention

April 4-7, 2018, the Ruby Valley FFA Chapter sent 16 kids to compete at State Convention in Billings Montana. They competed in 7 different competitions consisting of, Parliamentary Procedure, Farm Business Management (FBM), Livestock Evaluation, Sales, Mechanics, Agronomy, and Creed Speaking. A couple members also applied to receive their State Degree awards. Juan Du-Pond, a recent graduate from the chapter, ran for a State Office position. After 3 days of competition, the students got to see if all of their hard work paid off. The parli pro team made it to the semi-final round: Destiny Fabel, Zane Bowey, Zoe Lee, Grace Larsen, Tyler Haag, and Cade McParland. Destiny and Zane were also awarded their state degree, the highest degree a state can bestow on its members. The FBM team won third place out of over 60 chapters: Destiny Fabel, Zane Bowey, Tyler Haag, and Stephen Hamilton. Finally, the mechanics team won first place and will be representing Montana at National Convention later this fall in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Ruby Valley FFA had a very successful year!
