Peggy Lee Hoe

Peggy Lee Hoe (Gann) died on Feb. 23, 2018. She was 70 years old and a longtime resident of McAllister, Mont., and consummate lover of the West. Peggy was born in Gettysburg, Pa., and grew up in the hills of California. In 1980 she moved to Montana and never stopped calling it home. She is survived by her husband Pidge, her daughter Sarah, her granddaughter McAllister, and her brother Craig.

Peggy loved music, reading, cooking, gardening with her dear friend Nancy, and beating Max at cribbage. She was a Montanan through and through—she had a huge heart, a sharp tongue, worked hard, and took no bull. Her ashes will be spread in the two places she found peace: in the mountains of North Meadow Creek and at the beach somewhere in Half Moon Bay.

Peggy Lee is finally free. We hold her memory in our hearts and call on her strength when needed. She will be remembered this summer with a party thrown by family and friends and through the Peggy Lee Hoe Memorial Fund at the Madison Valley Public Library, proceeds will be used to purchase more literary fiction for the people of Madison County.

If you are interested in remembering Peg in this way, please send your donations to: 210 E Main St. Ennis, MT 59729.
