This was not your typical summer job. Many of us worked in restaurants or mowed lawns during the long school break. Gillian Shannon lived in an historic log cabin at Bear Creek Campground east of Cameron and spent her days improving trails up Bear Creek Loop, caring for horses and learning to wrangle a chain saw.
The Panthers rolled into Simms with high hopes to get their season started with a win in Simms over the Tigers. They were met with serious opposition and the young team from Sheridan just couldn’t get themselves started and made numerous errors on the offensive side of the ball to start the game.

The Madison County Planning Board met Monday, August 29 for a public hearing on The Crossings development. The meeting went until late into the evening to discuss the proposed development. The subject was tabled until further notice due to the late hour.
