SB241 – Resort Tax
ENNIS—Members of the Ennis Volunteer Ambulance Service and Madison Valley Rural Fire Department participated in a weekend of emergency medical training February 16 and 17, which included CPR training, instruction on the newest trends in emergency medicine and learning the ropes on some new equipment.
ENNIS – The Madison River Negotiated Rulemaking Committee will hold its next meeting March 25 and 26 in Bozeman at the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks regional office. The meetings will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an opportunity for public comment at the end of the meeting.
VIRGINIA CITY—The Madison County commissioners were busy as usual at their weekly meeting on Tuesday, March 12, covering happenings at the Twin Bridges and Ennis airports, new GIS data on the county’s roads and a livestock carcass composting site near Norris.
Airports Update
TWIN BRIDGES – A number of property owners came to the Twin Bridges town council meeting on Tuesday, March 12, to express their displeasure with plans to move ahead with part of a $600,000 storm water, sidewalk, curb and gutter project, scheduled to begin this summer.
THREE FORKS—Recent water samples taken in Three Forks showed that arsenic levels were more than six times the recommended federal limit in one of the four wells that feed the town’s distribution system, according to information from the Gallatin City-County Health Department.
VIRGINIA CITY—After two years of work, the Virginia City town council approved a revised version of the town’s sign ordinance at its meeting on Thursday, March 7.
ENNIS – During January, Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks (FWP) personnel conducted a new pronghorn antelope study in the Madison River valley.
ENNIS – The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission’s Madison River Negotiated Rulemaking Committee (NRC) brought their third and fourth meetings to the heart of the matter – the banks of the Madison River – on Wednesday and Thursday, March 6 and 7.
