Nov. 6 election results
ENNIS - According to Corey Stapleton, Montana’s Secretary of State, the unofficial (not all 669 statewide precincts were finished reporting in as of 7:30 a.m., November 7) tallies in the Tuesday, November 6 election are these:
• Voter turnout - 417, 639 voted; 711,259 people are registered, a 58 percent turnout.
Madison County
In Madison County, the voting went this way:
County voters marked a 75 percent turnout, with 4,995 votes cast, of 6,615 registered voters . Locally, all eight precincts have reported in.
U.S. Senator
• Matt Rosendale - Republican 58percent - 2,887 votes
• Jon Tester –Democrat 38 percent, 1,886 votes
• Rick Breckenridge – Libertarian, 3 percent , 170 votes
Total Votes - 4,943
U. S. House of Representatives
• Greg Gianforte – Republican - 63percent -3,148 votes
• Kathleen Williams – Democrat - 34percent - 1,663 votes
• Elinor Swanson, Libertarian, 3percent - 144 votes

Clerk of the Supreme Court
• Bowen Greenwood – Republican, 64 percent , 3,039 votes
• Rex Renk – Democrat, 28, 28 percent , 1,335 votes

No. 185 – Tobacco taxes increased to fund health care programs

• Yes – 40 percent, 1,958 votes
No. 186 – Deny a hardrock mine permit for perpetual treatment of water

State contests
• Statewide, the U.S. Senate race between Tester and Rosendale is still neck and neck, with not all precincts reporting in yet. Rosendale leads, 49 percent, 202,262 votes, to Tester’s 48 percent, 199, 175 votes, and Rick Breckenridge pulling 3 percent, 11,891
• The U. S. House of Representatives race between Gianforte, Williams and Swanson appears more decided: Gianforte has 53 percent of the votes, 219,853, while Williams has 44 percent of the votes, 182,279; and Swanson pulled 3 percent of the votes with 11,424.
