Local AITs hired as nursing home administrators

Alison Veland and Gail Nelson hired in Ennis and Sheridan

During the weekly meeting on March 9, the Madison County Board of Commissioners approved hiring two local nursing home administrators, one for the Madison Valley Manor (MVM) in Ennis and one for Tobacco Root Mountains Care Center (TRMCC) in Sheridan.

After passing their national administrator exams and going through an interview process in-house, Alison Veland, administrator in training (AIT) for MVM, and Gail Nelson, AIT for TRMCC, will be hired in full-time, permanent, exempt positions as administrators at each respective facility.

“I think it’s great we were able to hire these two local gals,” Commissioner Ron Nye said.

Both women will begin their positions on March 16, a day before Steve McNeece, current Madison County Nursing Home Administrator, ends his tenure with the county. Salaries for both positions will be $87,000.
