BURN BAN IN MADISON COUNTY

A Madison County burn ban went into effect at noon July 15.

Fireworks and open burning are not allowed on private lands due to dry conditions. Two-thirds of the county is in a severe drought. The Madison County Commissioners signed the ban July 14.

Several grass or wildland fires in the county have occurred in the 2020 wildfire season. The Madison County’s Office of Disaster and Emergency Services reported 25 acres have been burnt in Madison County
