Madison County COVID-19 update

Madison County’s COVID-19 cases are starting to level as Montana COVID-19 cases climbed to 9,244 on Sept. 15.

Madison County had one active coronavirus case as of Sept. 15. Its case rate has dropped from being the fifth highest in Montana last week to ninth this week. Big Horn County has the highest rate of COVID-19 in the state with 5,804 cases per capita. Madison County has 1,116 cases per capita.

The positive COVID-19 case associated with the Tobacco Root Mountain Care Center seems to be an isolated case for now, according to Madison County Public Health Nurse Melissa Brummel. All staff and residents at TRMCC have been tested at least three time since the case was detected about 10 days ago. All tests that have been returned have been negative for the coronavirus.

No out of state individuals tested positive in the county over the past week. Madison County has 96 confirmed COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
