MADISON COUNTY CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
Madison County had six new COVID-19 cases between Aug. 4 and Aug. 11. The county has eight active cases as of Aug. 11.
Madison County’s COVID-19 status remains at community transmission, which was determined when contact tracing could not be traced to travel or a known positive case in the community. Most of the county’s positive COVID-19 cases have been between the ages of 50 and 79, but two children between the ages of 0 and 9 have also tested positive.
Montana has tested nearly 195,000 residents with over 5,000 confirmed cases as of Aug. 11. Seventy-seven Montanans have died from the novel virus, including one Madison County resident.
The Madison County Public Health Department conducted a surveillance testing drive through at Placer Loop outside of Virginia City Aug. 12. Participation numbers and results from the testing site are not yet available.
