Spirit of Christmas Stroll

The Inaugural Gingerbread House competition was a success

The inaugural Gingerbread House Competition was a great success! We had 19 entries from several age groups and locations throughout the valley.

Inventive names for the houses was a common theme, two of the more interesting names were Dumpster House and Frost Your Hair Salon. What we constantly heard from the bakers and their families was how much fun everyone had and that next year they have an even better house in mind.

The competition was close and the judges had a hard time picking winners!

Creativity, Christmas spirit, and delicious smells filled the Madison Valley Library.

This event kicked off this years Annual Spirit of Christmas Stroll and will be an annual tradition. The winning entries will receive Chamber Bucks, An Award Ribbon, and a baking accessory to help them in next year's event.

Congratulations to our Grand Champion and Gold Medal Winner: Sherri Shows with "The Old Christmas Homestead". Sherri will represent Ennis in the 2022 Gingerbread National Championship next November at Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina.

“I am thrilled to be chosen to represent our community next year at the National Championships. All the gingerbread houses were amazing and you could tell that a lot of heart and Christmas Spirit went into each house," stated Shows.
