VIRGINIA CITY—Most of Virginia City turned out for the local volunteer fire department’s annual cake walk fundraiser on Saturday, April 6, as well as residents from around Madison County.

ENNIS – Jack Creek Preserve was founded in 2005 by Jon Fossel and Dottie Fossel, who established the 4,500-acre conservation easement to serve as a corridor for wildlife migrating through different parts of the Lee Metcalf Wilderness.

ENNIS — Madison Valley Manor is honored to have a new addition to Club 90. Welcome Major Hugh Z. Reynolds, born December 21, 1919… yes, that’s right, he is 99 years old and well on his way to celebrating his 100th birthday.

SHERIDAN—For several years now, one of Sheridan’s most popular fundraising events has also been one of its most festive: The Leprechaun Dash, benefitting New Kids on the Block daycare.

ENNIS—For Bob and France Kudelski, the story goes from hockey to hotels, as France puts it.

ENNIS—They call him Mad Max.

Madison County’s District 3, which includes Ennis, Big Sky, Cameron and the surrounding areas, is home to a piece of equipment few other counties in Montana are fortunate enough to have. New, they cost somewhere around $3 million. Madison County got Mad Max for a song.

PONY—Paula Wilson has been managing the Pony bar for 16 years, but has lived in Pony her entire life. This weekend, she’ll be at the bar like most weekends, but she’ll be accompanied by far more people than usual on a wintry Saturday.

YELLOWSTONE—There are only two types of motorized transport allowed into Yellowstone National Park in the winter: guided snowmobile trips and snowcoaches. From the time the park closes in October to its spring reopening in April, the majority of those who venture into the park will do so with guides.
